ABOUT

Jay is a writer–director and cinematographer based between London and the Midlands. His work aims to explore social commentary and working-class allegories, with a strong focus on cinematography to lead his stories.His films have screened at OSCAR, BAFTA, and BIFA qualifying festivals and have picked up some awards along the way. Most recently, his short film SLEEP was selected for the London Short Film Festival, awarded Best Screenplay at the 48th Drama International Short Film Festival, Best Student Film at the Soho London Independent Film Festival, and screened at Thessaloniki International Film Festival.Jay holds an MA in Directing Fiction and a BA in Filmmaking. Currently, he is in post-production on his new short psychological drama, The Flat Below, a story that examines society’s neglect of the aging working-class.
